Rencana Pengembangan Bandara Ngurah Rai, Runway di Aspal Ulang Tahun 2023
Jbm.co.id-BADUNG | Angkasa Pura I selaku pengelola Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai tengah melakukan persiapan khusus terkait rencana pengembangan Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai. Terlebih lagi, pesawat super jumbo Airbus A380 milik Maskapai Emirates direncanakan mendarat di Bali yang akan terbang reguler mulai pertengahan tahun 2023.
Untuk itu, landasan pacu atau runway Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai sepanjang 3.000 meter dan lebar 45 meter direncanakan di aspal ulang, pada tahun 2023.
Hal tersebut, disampaikan General Manager PT Angkasa Pura I Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Handy Heryudhitiawan, saat diwawancarai awak media, Selasa, 31 Januari 2023.
“Pengaspalan runway itu ada siklusnya, sekitar 5-6 tahun sekali, sekarang sudah waktunya, karena 2018 terakhir, kita juga sudah lihat ada ciri-ciri surface-nya itu sudah mulai mengalami penurunan kualitas, tapi masih bisa dipakai,” terang Handy.
Meski demikian, lanjutnya, pengaspalan ulang merupakan hal biasa dilakukan di setiap Bandara, termasuk Bandara Ngurah Rai, yang bertujuan untuk menjaga keselamatan penerbangan. Untuk itu, dilakukan pengecekan landasan pacu atau runway, dua kali sehari.
“Kita lakukan pengecekan dua kali sehari dan harus dipastikan. Jika ada aspal mulai retak, nanti malamnya harus dilakukan perbaikan. Itu hal biasa, tapi kita sudah menghitung kekuatan runway sampai seberapa,” jelas Handy.
Oleh karena itu, tim wajib memastikan tidak ada bagian aspal yang retak dan jangan sampai aspal landasan terkelupas yang justru bisa membahayakan keselamatan penerbangan. Untuk itu, kata dia, pemeliharaan dan pengerjaan pengaspalan ulang dilakukan setiap hari, pada saat jam tutup operasional Bandara, sekitar 02.00-07.00 WITA.
“Jadi, pengaspalan hanya bisa dilakukan sehari selama lima jam, tapi saat pukul 02.00 WITA dinihari itu tidak bisa langsung seketika mulai dan selesai bukan pukul 07.00 WITA tapi sebelum itu. Maka dari itu, kita tentu akan koordinasikan dengan pihak Maskapai, jangan sampai ada permintaan penambahan jam operasional dari Maskapai selama proses pengaspalan,” pungkasnya. (ace).
