Demikian disampaikan Tjandra Setiadji atau yang biasa disapa Andy menaggapi pertanyaan para insan pers pada peringatan Hari Pers Nasional.
Andy yang saat ini menjadi Dewan Pengawas IMO-Indonesia merasa bangga dengan peran sosialnya saat ini yang bersinggungan langsung dengan dunia media. Karena menurutnya, peran itulah yang dapat ia perbuat pada sektor pembangunan bangsa dan Negara.
“Peran Pers sudah tidak diragukan lagi, pers yang membentuk informasi saat ini jadi terbuka. Maka saya ucapkan selamat Hari Jadi Pers Nasional pada tanggal 09 Februari 2020,” terang Andy di Jakarta.
Andy pun berharap untuk terus memperbaiki peran pers pada masa-masa yang akan datang. Dan hal tersebut tergantung kepada insan pers terutama para wartawan dan pemilik media.
“Tentu masih banyak yang perlu diperbaiki, karena tantangan akan selalu muncul di kemudian hari, seperti godaan politik, ancaman atas sebuah pemberitaan dan lain-lain,” sambung Andy tokoh kelahiran Bagan Siapi-Api itu.
Ia menjelaskan, tantangan politik saat ini yang dianggapnya potensi merusak citra media ialah, kepentingan seorang politisi yang kadang tidak ingin diberitakan atas kejadian-kejadian politik di negeri ini.
Maka, lanjut Andy yang juga berprofesi sebagai Praktisi Hukum itu, media harus siap menghadapi godaan tersebut. “Rayuan manis politik sebagai tantangan bagi media hari ini. Kalau media bisa bertahan maka jayalah media kita,” tegas Andy.
Terpisah, ketua umum IMO-Indonesia Yakub Ismail mengucapkan selamat Hari Pers Nasional 2020 kepada seluruh masyarakat pers di Tanah Air, Peringatan Puncak Hari Pers Nasional 2020 di Kalimantan Selatan sejatinya diselenggaran hari minggu tanggal 09/02/20 namun terjadi perubahan dan akhirnya maju menjadi hari sabtu tanggal 08/02/2020 karena adanya penyesuaian agenda Presiden.
Sebagai organisasi badan usaha pemilik media online, IMO-Indonesia mendorong agar industri media khususnya online untuk menjalankan fungsinya yang strategis agar dapat mengedukasi masyarakat, ujarnya via mobile phone, minggu 09/02/20 pagi.
Yakub juga berharap semoga hari Pers Nasional 2020 menjadi momentum dalam memperkuat komitmen sebagai pilar demokrasi untuk dapat mengawal pembangunan di lintas sektor yang dapat dipercaya sekaligus menjadi pemersatu Bangsa, pungkasnya. /JBM
