“Itu masalah paham yang salah. Kalau nanti saya meledakkan orang lain menjadi cedera, menjadi korban, saya menjadi korban, saya masuk surga. Itu pemahaman yang salah. Ini orang berbuat seenaknya seperti itu dan itu sangat salah,” kata Edy, Selasa (19/11/2019).
Ia menegaskan para terduga teroris yang memiliki paham radikal cenderung memaksakan kehendak dengan menggunakan kekerasan.
“Tolong jangan dimasukkan mereka dalam salah satu komponen yang ada di kita. Itu bukan orang kita. Orang sakit jiwa itu. Orang radikal itu mereka yang punya pemahaman berbeda tetapi memaksakan kehendak,” katanya.
Menurut dia, jika kebanyakan orang takut mati, mereka yang memiliki paham radikal justru memiliki sikap dan pandangan berbeda.
“Itu pemahaman yang sakit jiwa. Di mana-mana orang takut mati. Dia malah bunuh diri. Itu kan sakit jiwa,” ucapnya.
Gubernur Sumut ini juga mengimbau masyarakatnya untuk mengidupkan kembali Siskamling.
“Kami akan lakukan lagi. Sudah ada SOP-nya, bahkan sampai ke tingkat RT/RW. Tamu 1×24 jam harus lapor. Semua ini dihidupkan kembali. Siskamling, ada tamu yang mencurigakan, apa yang dilakukan di rumah harus diketahui. Itulah gunanya Babinsa. Itulah gunanya Bhabinkamtibmas. Itu gunanya RT, RW, berjenjang sampai ke atas,” tuturnya.
